COPS Scotland public meeting, Glasgow

Campaign Opposing Police SurveillancePublic meeting to launch the Campaign Opposing Police Surveillance in Scotland.

Speakers include:

Donal O’Driscoll
Donal Is one of 201 ‘core participants’ at the Pitchford Inquiry into Undercover Policing. These are individuals and groups known to have been spied upon by undercover police. Donal is also part of Undercover Research Group who have done extensive work to expose and chart Britain’s political secret police.

Helen Steel
A lifelong activist for environmental and other causes. Took Metropolitan Police to court, in a 4 year trial, after she discovered that her partner John Parker was really spycop John Dines. Helen is a major campaigner for justice for all victims of spycops.

Harvey Duke
Spied upon by a private intelligence agency in 2010. Investigative writer, and founder of COPS Scotland, is currently writing about spies in Scotland, advised by Spinwatch. A socialist and trade union activist for over 30 years.

Tilly Gifford
An environmental activist with Plane Stupid, Gifford was approached by police to become a paid informer. She strung them along exosed the practice with audacious counter-surveillance, recording her meeting with officers and releasing it ot the press.
