Sack Bob Lambert – End of Year Picket
5th June 2015 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The campaign to have Bob Lambert removed from his academic post at London Metropolitan University continues with an end-of-year picket.
On Friday 5 June from 12 noon until 2pm, Islington Against Police Spies have called for another picket/leafleting of the building where the former Special Demonstration Squad undercover officer (and later unit manager) is a criminology lecturer.
It’s the last day of London Met’s academic year – let’s try and make this a bigger noisier picket, to remind London Met that we are not going away, and the campaign is only going to increase until they get rid of Bob Lambert.
Bring placards, banners, sound systems, anything to make noise…
Our post from January covers the controversy over Lambert’s past and his academic positions, whilst this video of a talk at his other employer, the University of St Andrews, has more detail.
The location is London Met Uni’s Tower Building N7 8DB, opposite Holloway Road tube.
You can follow Islington Against Police Spies on Twitter and Facebook.
STOP THE LAYOFFS
While vociferously standing by Bob Lambert, London Met bosses plan to make 165 other staff redundant. There is widespread opposion to these slashing cuts from staff and students; strike action by UCU members has already taken place, and Unison members have voted for further action.
Islignton Against Police Spies has expressed support of all those threatened with redundancy and London Met workforce in resisting these cuts. There’s only one member of London Met staff that should be sacked.
